The Weight watcherdiet plan has a long history.

HOW THE WEIGHT WATCHER PROGRAM WORKS:

Weight watchers offers several avenues to help you lose weight. They include:

  • meetings
  • products
  • an online program
Weight watchers uses a food based point system to help you control calories. Basically this program is a calorie restriction type diet. Foods are given points, and you are allowed a certain amount of points per day.

The basic program does not limit food choices so you can choose the foods you want to eat on a daily basis.

Most people who join weight watchers join a meeting group.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT::

There is no doubt weight watchers has been around for quite some time. They use quite a bit of marketing to get people to join their system.

  • The flex point system is basically the same as the winning points plan with fresh marketing attached to it.

  • The new weight watcher core plan is based on eating foods from a list that weight watchers provides.

  • Weight watchers isn’t cheap. If you join the meeting plan there is a sign up fee plus $10-$15 dollars per meeting.

  • If you join weight watchers online it will cost you $44 dollars per month.

    The fact that weight watchers doesn’t limit food choices might sound great but this can also get you into a lot of trouble by choosing to eat junk food all day.

    The new weight watcher core plan tries to help you with healthy food choices but this new plan allows you to float between the core plan and the flex plan.

    Eating healthy foods, free from processing, sugar, trans-fats, etc. should part of any healthy diet plan. Weight watchers advertises aggressively, trying to convince overweight people that they can eat all same the foods they love with no regards to proper nutrition.

    Weight watchers also has you counting calories through a point system. Any diet that has you counting calories, either by calorie or point system, is very difficult to follow for the long haul.

    My grandmother, my mother, my sister, my aunts, friends, etc.. have all been on weight watchers throughout the years, some several times, and none have had long term success at keeping the weight off with this diet.
